Despite his impressive KO victory over James Irvin at the weekend's Fight Night 14, Silva is adamant he will be returning to the Middleweight division.

"I was very happy about the win," Silva said after improving his record to 22-4. I was very happy to put on a good performance for all the UFC fans, but now it is over with."

"As soon as I left the Octagon, that fight was in the past. I look forward to getting back to Brazil and training for my next fight."

“This was my first time coming up here, it was a good experience, but my responsibility is to defend the 185-pound title,” Silva stated through his translator.

When asked whether he will be able to defend his title every 3-4 months Sylvia commented, “We always want to fight more, always being part of this family, the UFC,” Silva said.“He [UFC President Dana White] wanted to save me a little, but I’ve made this request to him, that he put me in a few more fights. He accepted.”
