Here's a compilation of the 7 most brutal fights in mixed martial arts. Ranging from snapped, dislocated limbs to full on epic blood baths. Enjoy.
Marvin Eastman Vs Vitor Belfort

Marvin “The Beastman” Eastman suffered this nasty ‘headgina” at UFC 43 thanks to Brazilian striker Vitor Belfort’s badass flying knee strike. As you can see from the image above his injuries can be compared to the inside of a piece of steak. Nice.
Frank Shamrock vs. Igor Zinoviev
In March 1998 at UFC 16: Battle in the Bayou, UFC Champion Frank Shamrock took on Extreme Fighting Champion Igor Zinoviev. With only 22 seconds of the first round gone, Shamrock picked up Zinoviev and slammed him head first into the mat. The slam knocked Zinoviev out cold breaking the Russian fighter’s collarbone in the process and subsequently putting an end to his MMA career.
Shinya Aoki vs Keith Wisniewski
Back in 2005 at a SHOOTO Middleweight bout, specialist arm breaker Shinya Aoki caught his opponent Keith Wisniewski in an unorthodox winding arm bar. The hold which threw Wisniewski to the mat, resulted in the fighter getting his arm snapped in the process. If you listen carefully you can actually hear the snap too.. Just in case you don’t believe us.
Cro Cop vs Gabriel Gonzaga

Unfortunately for Mirko Cro Cop what appeared to be a body shot by Gabriel Gonzaga back in 2007 at UFC 70, was in fact a head strike that caught the Croatian striker smack bang in his temple. Game over for Cro Cop.
What made this knockout even more brutal was that on his descent Mirko’s leg bent awkwardly under himself snapping his ankle like a twig. Herb Dean promptly pulled Cro Cop’s leg out strait as the doctors jumped in to check on the unconscious fighter.
Mark Coleman vs. Mauricio "Shogun" Rua
Riding high on a 3-year winning streak Mauricio "Shogun" Rua was a huge favorite to win this bout back in February 2006, but the fight didn’t last longer than a minute.
After an awkward fall by Rua resulting in a badly broken arm, he quickly tapped out as Coleman rained down a flurry of punches on the injured fighter. Upon getting the decision Coleman went immediately insane, dancing around the medical staff as they attended to the injured Shogun.
As you can imagine this didn’t go down well with Rua’s corner men who upon seeing Coleman’s celebrations stormed the ring resulting in a mini riot.
Scott Morris vs Pat Smith
Way back at UFC 2, Pat smith unleashed hell on Scott Morris in the form of elbow strikes from above, it’s unclear from the video just how many elbows Morris ate, but the flying pieces of bloody pulp flying from his face were fairly clear to see. This was Morris’s first and only professional MMA event.
Tim Sylvia Vs Frank Mir
In a UFC Heavyweight bout at UFC 48: Payback, Mir trapped Sylvia's right arm in an arm bar attempt. As Sylvia tried to pull out of the hold, Mir jerked back harder causing Sylvia's radius bone to snap just about 3 inches below his elbow.
The referee Herb Dean quickly stepped in to stop the fight, at which point Sylvia made attempts to prove to Herb that his arm was in fact not broken. He even went as far as wiggling it around and touching it, Sylvia was taken to the near by hospital where an x-ray showed that his arm was in fact broken.
