I've seen the spiked elbows in many fights, and often wondered why they're allowed.
In this instance however, the strike was not intentionally placed to the back of the head.
The cut was caused by Joe tucking his head in and down in his lame effort of defending himself.
I'll see if I can locate "Big John's" comments in regard to the rule.
