I never understood why people take so much of these powdered supplements, what exactly do they do?
I took a health class in college and the prof. said that they were a waste of money because most people don't take them properly and drink too much of them because (and this is just loosely what she said) your body knows how much protein it needs and once it consumed what it needed the remaining gets broken down and you pee it out of your system to where you are literally pissing your money down the drain.
I have been thinking about doing the protein shakes thing due to the fact that I have recently been diagnosed with a health condition that doesn't allow me to eat red meat, dairy or whole wheats. which dairy and whole wheats were pretty much my entire diet lol. and now I practically only eat veggies and bananas and am always starving and I am told it's because I don't eat enough protein ... I dunno I am dumb when it comes to nutrition and the like ... any suggestions?
(i dont want to bulk up (lol i am a girl) I just want to be healthy and not hungry all the damn time)
