Add injuries to this equation. What if GSP/Serra can't fight for 9 months after this fight? That pushes back Matt Hughes and then a guy like Fitch wouldn't have fought for over a year. I understand pre-building hype and then marketing the crap out of a guy, but I'd say keep that sorta stuff in-house or figure out a way to determine a real #1 contender before giving 3 guys title shots.

why is hughes the nest to get a title shot? he loss his last 2 fights. I just find he isn't hyped as much as he used to be

He's not. Hughes gets Serra, thats really the only fight has interest in. If Serra wins, he HAS to fight Fitch which delays Hughes even longer. But Hughes can't fight Serra unless he doesn't have the title because of the guaranteed title shots. If there is an injury by the winner at any point, a guy like Fitch gets screwed over because he will have to deal with ring rust and then Alves as well.
