Like the UFC and EliteXC, WEC is an American MMA promotion. Seen widely as the 'sister' organization of the UFC, WEC is both owned and produced by ZUFFA, Inc. The difference between the two organizations are that WEC tend to focus of the the lighter weight classes and talent building. WEC uses the same rule set as the UFC, but holds it's fights in a smaller sized Octagon.
